πŸš€ Why Consistency Might Be Holding You Back

We all know that to be successful on social media, we have to be "consistent".

But if you don't know why or how, trying to be consistent might be holding you back.

Being consistent doesn't mean posting every day.

Being consistent doesn't mean posting as much as possible.

Being consistent means posting a sustainable amount of content over a long period of time.

When I started:

❌ I didn't post 1x/week on YouTube.
❌ I didn't post everyday on Instagram.
❌ I didn't post on all platforms.

If I did, it would have looked like this ⬇️

Instead, I chose a sustainable amount of content that I could hold for at least 2 years.

βœ… I posted every 2 weeks on YouTube
βœ… I posted 3-4x/week on Instagram.

It looked something like this ⬇️

Over time, my content got better, people started to trust me and they started to see me as an "expert".

Why?

Because I built a solid reputation of someone that keep showing up and showed progress - over a long period of time ✨

THAT is what consistency really is! πŸ‘‘

πŸ”— The link in bio tool I use - Zaap

A "link in bio" is a clickable URL that appears in your Instagram/TikTok profile description, which provides essential information about your business and your products, combining a few different links.

To me, it is mandatory to direct people where I want them to go!

The one I've been using lately is called Zaap and has been my favourite for a few reasons:

  • πŸ“ The "folder" structure is less intimidated for the visitor if you have many different links

  • πŸŽ₯ It automatically embed your latest posts/videos

  • πŸ’Œ Email list builder included

  • πŸ“ž Book coaching calls with the calendar integration

  • πŸ’° Sell digital products directly from your link in bio

Here is a snippet of how it looks:

πŸ›‘ Should we quit Instagram?

If you've read my past newsletters/content, you probably are aware that I'm getting more and more tempted to quit Instagram to fully focus on YouTube.

Obviously, this video got me to click on it!

I can relate with EVERY. SINGLE. POINT she makes.

  1. Quality Over Quantity

With YouTube, you can focus more on quality than quantity as the videos have a much longer shelf life than Instagram. As a creator, this is more rewarding and enjoyable.

  2. Evergreen Content

Even if your video doesn't start well, it can always pick up on YouTube. Sometimes, some of my videos start to gain traction 6 months to 1 year after being uploaded. This is GREAT for passive traffic!!!

  3. Follower Loyalty

By the nature of the videos being long-form, you can create better relationships with your audience on YouTube. They can get to know you better and develop more trust and loyalty with you than on short-form platforms like Instagram.

  4. YouTube Actually Pays You

Well, this one is pretty straight forward. Even though AdSense doesn't pay much (I get about $300 every month from it), it still helps and makes you feel valued from the platform.

So if you were waiting for a sign to start your YouTube Channel, this is it and I hope it helps you see the benefits of this platform πŸ˜‰

βŒ›οΈ Time management lessons from a $100M CEO

Time management is something that every creative person struggles with - me included.

I found this video from CEO Dan Martell to be filled with GEMS πŸ’Ž applicable to us music producers including:

🎢 Big rocks first (aka your music time)
πŸ”‚ Batching similar tasks together (aka making content, making music, emailing potential leads etc...)
πŸ‘€ Looking for leverage (aka outsourcing video editing and other tasks you don't need to do)

etc...

You can watch the rest of the video here ⬇️

🎢 AK - Hold Tight

I discovered this song last week through an Instagram Reels (this is your hint to post your music on short-form platform btw πŸ˜‰) but it got my attention for one main reason.

First of all, the songwriting is great and I love the whole vibe and beat BUT I am 99% sure I heard and saved this main guitar loop on Splice!!!

This song has almost 3 million streams on Spotify so... stop caring about using "overused" samples πŸ˜‚

P.S. Maybe he didn't use that sample from Splice, but the point remains the same!!
