🎧 You can now add music on your Instagram profile

Instagram finally did an update that could be useful for us music artists!

You can now attach a music snippet to your Instagram profile (see image below, highlighted in red)

This is a great way to give a snippet of your music style to potential new fans.

Here are a few ideas of what you could add:

• Your last release
• Your best song
• The song that represents you the best

🎹 Is learning piano the cheat code for music producers?

In a previous newsletter, I asked if you thought piano is a necessary skill for music producers. Those were the answers:

Now I actually did the experiment myself through a 90-Day Piano Challenge and documented everything through a YouTube video.

• Would it be easier to come up with chord progressions and melody?
• Would it improve the storytelling and songwriting of my songs
• Would I be able to share more emotions with the listeners?
• Would my songs be more catchy?

Those are all questions I wanted to answer through the video.

🤖 A tool that writes chords from a vocal acapella

Do you struggle to start a song from a vocal acapella?

Then I found the tool for you! It's called BeatSwap by Tuney.

The concept:

1. Upload a vocal acapella
2. Confirm the BPM and key
3. Click "Generate Track"
4. Listen to the 3 instrumentals
5. Edit and customize the one you want
6. Download the audio file
7. Produce your song

I tried it myself and the results were quite interesting!

Nothing that you could fully use as is (plus it would be no fun!), but a great way to find inspiration if you're stuck, experiencing a creative block or need a songstarter.

🎶 Why the art needs to come first

I watched this video last week.

While some of his thoughts are probably on the extreme side of things, they are a good reminder that your art needs to be at the centre of everything.

He also shares a few points about creating content and building a business around your art, which can be useful if that's something you are aiming to do.
