🎢 The 30-second trick to instantly hook your listeners

First of all, listen to this track (at least the beginning):

Did you spot the trick?

πŸ‘‰πŸ» The first drop hits at 0:38 seconds and the first verse at 0:54 seconds!!!

Intro (4 bars) - Chorus (8 bars) - Build Up (8 bars) - Drop

What we can learn from this is:

  • Keep the intro short and extremely catchy (4 bars)
  • Go straight into the good stuff (aka start with the chorus and build up)
  • Deliver the first verse AFTER the listener is hooked
  • Keep the song under 3 minutes, it will increase its replay-ability

With today's short attention span, this is a great easy trick and arrangement to follow if you want to succeed on Spotify playlists and radios.

🎹 How to make ambient melodic beats

Since 2023, ambient music is on the rise and becoming more and more popular.

It seems easy and simple on the surface but if you dig deeper, you'll realize that you could learn many new cool production tricks from it.

While I was exploring the genre and looking for resources, I found this great tutorial by 6astard family on YouTube.

If you're interested, give it a watch!

🀬 Deadmau5 starts a war with Spotify

We all know that Spotify is getting a lot of heat from independent artists. Mostly because of their poor revenue model for small artists.

But apparently, the big guys are also pissed at Spotify!

A few weeks ago, Daniel Ek, the CEO of Spotify, shared a statement that "the costs of creating social media content and music production are β€œalmost zero.”

Deadmau5 took this to heart and posted a heated caption on Instagram ⬇️

He was obviously not the only one to be mad about Daniel's statement.

After other artists reacted and commented on his posts, he replied:

β€œI feel that, I’m about to pull my catalog from these fucking vultures, enough is enough.”

Wait, what??? 🀯

Is that the beginning of a musicians strikes so Spotify finally start to respect us?

Would you be ready to remove your songs from Spotify?

We'll see how the future unfolds!

You can read more about this in this article.

πŸ’¬ How to guarantee your YouTube video title works

If you have a YouTube Channel, this is for you. I have discovered a free tool that will help you!

By now, you probably know that the title and thumbnails are unfortunately almost more important than the video itself on YouTube.

This tool called Creator Hooks PRO helps you find titles that will work for your channel.

How does it work?

Step 1 - Install the Google Chrome Extension

Step 2 - Go to the YouTube home page to find a YouTube video that worked well.

Usually, it would be a video that has considerably more views than the channel's subscriber count.

Note that it doesn't have to be in your niche as the tool will adapt the title to your channel.

I chose this one for example: 318K views for a channel of 15k subs ⬇️

Step 3 - Click the little purple magic button

Step 4 - Their A.I. tool will generate 5 title ideas for your channel, based on the formula of the reference video.

Here are the results it outputs ⬇️

This will help you:

  • Maximize results for your video by using proven formulas for YouTube video titles
  • Generate video ideas more easily, targetted perfectly to your audience

If you have a YouTube Channel, it's a MUST, plus it's free for 10 use per day!

🎧 A masterpiece called 'Masterpiece'

This is my music discovery of the week!

You know I'm a sucker for good old sad and intense acoustic piano songs... well, that's one of them.

Plus, Conor's vocals are a masterpiece on their own 😍

An official description for this single is: β€œA heartfelt piano ballad that spotlights Conor's strong vocals and deep sadness. The simple piano melody sets a sad tone, letting Conor's voice stand out as he shares his emotions in every note. The song tells the story of lost love and feeling vulnerable, making it a very personal and touching experience.”

P.S: You'll notice that this song is also 2 minutes 30 seconds. I guess songs under 3 minutes are getting more and more successful.
